An herbal conference just doesn’t feel complete if there’s not a section for our next generation herbalists. As coordinators of Wild Indigo Herb Fest, we feel it is very important to hold space for our future generation.
Because of this, we are starting out year one with Kid Fest, a pint sized version of Herb Fest just for our young folks.
Kids, ages 5-12 will have their own cozy corner at the Wild Indigo Herb Fest. There will be lots of fun activities planned as well as presenters teaching classes.

Kid Fest will be located centrally in the center of the Fest for easy access. There will be a tent dedicated to the kids and there is a playground for them to enjoy with nearby access to nature trails and a small pond for watching wildlife.

We have an exciting line up of presentations for the kids which we’ll be sharing in the next month. In addition to presentations, there will be an opening and closing ceremony and time for kids to relax and be kids.
In future years we hope to also offer a teen program as we are able to expand.

Kid Fest is being hosted by Kristine Brown, RH (AHG), the author and illustrator of Herbal Roots zine LLC, a digital publication that teaches herbalism to kids one herb at a time. In addition to her work online, Kristine has run and presented at kid herbal camps all across the United States for the past 15 years.
