An herb conference in Ohio!

Wild Indigo Herb Fest is the first community-based herb conference in Ohio.

We started working on this event in 2025 hoping to bring an educational event to celebrate wild food and medicine to the lower Midwest. Through a trial and a bit of error, we figured out what works for our community and what doesn’t.

In that time, one of our organizers, Celena (middle) stepped down to make room for a midwifery program. Although we miss her, we love her for who she is and what she is doing. Good luck, Celena!

Sarah, Leah and Nicki visited the new location, Bellwether Farm and found that their garden had a large stand of blooming wild indigo. Kismet!

Community Herbalism

What do we mean by community-based herb conference?

Lots of things. For instance, Wild Indigo Herb Fest focuses on community herbalism, grass-roots herb projects, mutual aid, folk herbalism, and herbal techniques.

We are also community supported. Our sponsors, presenters, volunteers, and volunteer organizers are part of the herbal community. They are also people we are interacting with first hand and having the conversations needed to produce an event with real people doing herbal work.
